North Shields couple enjoy bales and ales with wedding on Northumberland farm

Publicado: 2017-02-03

Everyone wants their wedding to be unique and special to them and tell their loved ones something about them as a couple, whether that’s to with their faith, an interest or the story of their life together so far. Some people go quite traditional with a Church wedding and a hotel or hall for their reception, while others go all out to reflect their likes and personalities in their celebrations by hiring a unique venue.

John and Joanne Elliott of North Shields decided to use our region’s beautiful scenery as their setting when they married, with best man Paul Stewart and chief bridesmaid, Jen Main by their sides.

They chose High House Farm at Matfen Brewery in Newcastle as their location. Having photos taken while standing on hay bales and against rustic stone walls, dancing in fields and sitting on piles of wood, John and Joanne really reflected the countryside in their wedding. And with beautiful blue skies and gorgeous green fields and trees, you can’t help but be taken by the idyllic setting.

Joanne wore a knee-length dress and white peep-toe heels, while John wears a bright orange tie. Looking perfect for a summer wedding and standing on hay bales, John and Joanne look at home in their photos. Their photographer was Matt Hale, from Matt Hale Photography.

John and Joanne decided to go for a wedding band for their reception. Booking The Fontains who are three piece cover band providing music from the past 50 years. Giving everyone something to dance too.

The couple met while Joanne was a student and worked at a bar in Tynemouth. As Joanne was serving John and his friends most weekends, the couple began to get to know each other. On a trip to Malta together, John knew the time was right and popped the question to Joanne.

They've had a mini moon in the Lake District, keeping with the countryside theme of their wedding and are due to honeymoon later this year in Croatia.
